Who is Heeler MetalCraft?
Owner / Founder
Matt Horick founded Heeler to bring his vast experience in sculpture, museum exhibits, design, architectural fabrication and overall love of building directly to artists, architects, and creatives.
For some reason, as long as he can remember, he’s been drawn to metals… to welding, forming, manipulating and being around metals. He has no family history in any of this, but he always just felt like it is what he needs to be doing.
Lead Fabricator:
With almost 20 years under the hood, machining, forming, finishing, maintaining tight tolerances and intended aesthetics, Matt knows how to make it happen. He learned with relatively little, and a huge part of his success was time spent working with an incredible mentor, so thank you Shaun.
Lead Designer:
Matt has been working in Rhino3D since about 2009 when one of his professors signed him up for 3D modeling without him knowing, saying “you’ll need this”… and he was not wrong. Thank you Tom.
CNC Operator / IT / Facilities:
As a small company, Matt does this as well. IT not so much, but he has well over 700 hours on the CNC. Typical projects integrate assemblies that require hand-fabricated parts with CNC machined components. He does his best to understand computers when he has to, but he does not enjoy it. He also literally built the shop.
Shop Foreman / HR:
Frankenstein-Marie is the namesake for Heeler MetalCraft. Born in a chicken coop in North Carolina, she monitors all tasks as closely as possible, provides emotional “support”, and makes sure everyone is on task. Watch your step, she’s probably underfoot..
